Now here’s a sensible publisher: the Hesperian Foundation (based in Berkeley, California), “a non-profit publisher of books and newsletters for community-based health care”, publishes many of its books in pdf format for free download – visit its Online Library. Have a look at A Community Guide to Environmental Health (by Jeff Conant and Pam Fadem, 2008), especially Chapter 7: Building Toilets, and Sanitation and Cleanliness for a Healthy Environment (by Jeff Conant, 2005).
